How I earned my private pilot licence in 28 days
Privately, with no previous aviation experience or connections
Preparation
I studied the Transport Canada Flight Training Manual, repeatedly. It gives you everything you need to know for each lesson.
Notes
Write down everything you can remember from the day's flights, briefings, and observations, from the moment you arrive at the airport until you leave.
You will find all kinds of helpful information when you are done, some will be important items you forgot.
Fly twice a day - Once in the morning - Once in the afternoon
This will be a hard pace but if you are prepared (step 1) then it's doable. Two flights will allow you to remember the lessons of the first and jump right into the next
Take a few hours between flights to refuel yourself and analyze the AM session
Review
Debrief yourself at the end of each day - what went wrong, what went right.
analysis will dramatically improve your progress
Study
Beyond Step 1, study the Flight Test Guide - Private Pilot Licence and the PSTAR written exam throughout your training.
When the time comes, these will be a cakewalk
Feedback
Beyond your instructor's briefings ask for feedback
Determine your weak areas early to be able to make adjustments ASAP
Relax
Stress and anxiety will kill your flow in no time
This process should be as fun as it is challenging, enjoy the journey
